Goose barnacle feeding appendage, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Barnacles are filter-feeding crustaceans that attach to rocks in marine tidal zones. The filter-feeding appendages of barnacles are known as cirri. Imaged using a secondary electron (SE) detector. Magnification: x20 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
